Our story

Arizona roots. A roofing crew that shows up.

Big Buckle Roofing started in the Gila Valley with a simple standard: do the job right and treat people like neighbors. That same approach goes with us to East Valley neighborhoods, small towns, and mountain homes.

01 · The founding

Evan Baker grew up on roofs in Safford. He started Big Buckle in Thatcher.

Evan learned the trade the way most people in the valley learn things: from family, on the job, in July. He carried bundles before he could drive. That is where the standard came from, and it is the only part of the family story that matters to your roof: he knows what a shortcut looks like from the underside.

He founded Big Buckle Roofing to give Safford, Thatcher, and the towns up the hill a roofer with a local address, crews who live here, and one non-negotiable: nobody gets a price until someone has stood on the roof.

Off the roof he is a family man and a roping enthusiast. The name on the truck is the name at the arena on Saturday. That is deliberate.

02 · The people

The crew that shows up is the crew that lives here.

No subcontracted crews trucked in after a storm. These are the people who will be on your roof, and where they are from.

03 · Proof of place

One local office. Arizona communities. The same standard.

Our office is at 472 S Robbie Ln in Thatcher. From there, we serve the Gila Valley and Greenlee County, Globe and Rim Country, the White Mountains, and East Valley communities including Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Queen Creek, and Apache Junction. The conditions change from one roof to the next. Our approach stays the same: inspect it in person and build the scope around what your property needs.

04 · What that buys you

Local is not a slogan. It is four specific things.

A warranty with an address

GAF enhanced warranties from a GAF Certified contractor, backed by GAF nationally and by a company you can drive to in Thatcher. Both halves matter.

A crew for repairs, too

A leak in a neighborhood home and a repair at a mountain cabin both deserve attention. We inspect the problem and recommend the work your roof needs.

Roofs spec'd for your elevation

Valley heat, Rim Country debris, and White Mountains snow load are different roofs. We build for the one you live under.

An owner you will run into

Evan's reputation is local and personal. That is a stronger guarantee than any clause, and he knows it.

Start with the roof in front of you.

A free in-person inspection, photos of what we find, and a written scope. Then you decide.
